Z wandered into the common room, looking still half-asleep. "Morning, Pangolin people."

"Yeah? I'm taking the first aid workshop, but that's because I sort of have no clue with that stuff, and I might need to later on, y'know?"

[janet_fraiser]

"I had a lot of internships at my last high school, and I work in the clinic as an aide now," said Janet. "First aid can come in useful in any situation, really. You've heard about the zombies and the snow monsters by now, right? We needed first aid then."

"Well, I'd heard about the zombies..."

[janet_fraiser]

"But not the snow monsters?" Janet grinned. "I don't think they're coming back. So are you used to weird monsters and thing?"

"Uh, giant robots rampaging through downtown and stuff, so...yes?"

[janet_fraiser]

"Yes is a good answer," said Janet. "So you're at least prepared for the weirdness here, and it won't all come as a shock to you."

"Not all of it. Some of it's been really weird. Like, the aliens look human."

[janet_fraiser]

"That's not normal where you're from?" asked Janet. "Because that's what I've gotten used to. I think just about everyone looks human here, at least."

"Well, not really. There are lots of aliens around, but they all look...different," Z finished lamely.

[janet_fraiser]

"That's fascinating too, though," said Janet. "I'm kind of a biology geek. So what do they look like? If you don't mind if I grill you on it."

"Lots of things--I mean, like, Triforians look human, but they're really really not because of that 'three in one' thing. My boss is like a giant reptilian blue dog."

"Wait, I think I met a giant blue dog-like alien at Parents Weekend," said Janet. "Bridge's mentor? Though I can't remember his name."

"Morning, Pangolin person I don't know yet," Elizabeth said, waving. "I'm Elizabeth."

"That's kinda funny, so am I. But everyone calls me Z."

"Well, that's something so we don't have to add descriptors in front of our name for the radio people," Elizabeth grinned. "I've not heard Z be used before, although one of my former teachers used to call me E."
