New Year, books, "work", school

Oh and as such, it has been a cold one. Warm weather prevailed through December 31st, then the temps plunged. Cuddle-duds are my friend although I'm ready to graduate to something like silk or polypropylene as the cotton likes to ride up on the legs and isn't quite as cozy. One of these days.

Like many of you I'm thinking of listing books ( Read more... )

Kudos on the books read! I have yet to finish a book this year. I've been doing a lot of driving around and with the library's odd hours, I haven't even been able to listen to a book, yet.

I'm glad your mom is satisfied with her living arrangement. It sounds a bit frustrating with the isolation, but that will end soon, hopefully. This will give her more time to work on more cute little crafts!

We already discussed the norovirus thing in person. I'm glad that your Mom got over it easily enough. Yikes!

I liked 206 Bones, too. I read almost all of her books when they come out; I think there might be another one since then, too.

Hmm, I may have to look up that Prentiss writer. I like books that take place in familiar (to me) places. Have you read any Tate Hallaway? Her paranormal romances for grownups take place in Madison and are pretty entertaining, if you like that sort of thing. (I do!)

How many paranormal romances (for grownups) could take place in Madison? Seems like a genera all by itself!

You've read some interesting books this year! I may have to check out the Reichs and Prentiss books.

I just finished the Dragon Tattoo, and am torn between running right out to buy a copy of The Girl Who Played With Fire, which I would happily loan to you if I do, and sitting down right now with The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest from the library. And I was totally wrong about the order when we talked about that, Dragon Tattoo is the first, cause it sets up some of the stuff in Played With Fire, which gets more into Lisbeth's backstory, but since I saw the movie of that which was a bit of a cliffhanger I am all set for the last one.

Now you make me want to read. I just spent 4 hours looking for jobs following an hour getting my teeth scraped and gums jabbed and I still haven't made it too far into the class website. I'm nervous about the whole thing! Reading would be so nice right now. I think I will do all the orientation stuff for class, then fix supper, then read until bedtime!
