Phyllis is 91 and demented. She sometimes does odd things with her food. Not really bad or anything, usually not even messy, but I'm so curious about what goes on in her head and I will never know

I hope doing so helps vent the stress that comes with the reality of caring for her, and that you hear and enjoy my commiserating chuckles through the electrons. I share your curiosity! The human brain is utterly fascinating, even when it's breaking down.
Putting dollars on the tray was utterly clever of you. Sounds like you should raise your rates, though, taking all of them as payment when bringing food from now on. :-)
