The path began brightening and Kahlan soon saw a clearing up ahead in the trees. And then she saw him, crouching just like he had been when she saw his image in the enchanted bowl. She was grateful at least that Shota’s hands weren’t sweeping over him.

I just read all four chapters and I love the flow of it all! I was also completely fooled by Shota! :D

My only complaint with the whole chapter is that this is an awkward sentence.
He dropped his grip on her elbow and tentatively moved his hand up to her face, his index finger touching her lower eyelid until the tear that sat there was lured onto the pad of his finger.

Also...scars! I find them fascinating as they always have a story behind them, and it was one of the things I was thinking about before writing the fic and was a crucial part of the storyline.
I just really wish in the show they would have a scene where Richard asks Kahlan how she got the scar on her lip...just another little insight into the character that would be interesting.
