We're going to FRANCE.

Marseille to be precise. French people keep trying to tell us that Marseille is a dirty hole of a city. And maybe it's all relative, but somehow I'm having a hard time believing them.

One of the advantages of travel is enforced internet disconnection, to break weaken the addiction every so often.

Think of your poor back! (Plus I am sure there are internet cafes everywhere if withdrawal gets too bad.)

I am totally thinking of my poor back! That's also why I'm spending my day nagging my doctor to give me a prescription for my controlled substance of choice percocet...

Not having your laptop is an excellent reason not to do any work on your vacation.

I mean, I'm really looking forward to the "my cell phone doesn't work there, and I'll have no internet access" aspect of vacation. I see too many people say "I'll be on vacation next week, here's my cell number, I'll be checking my work email daily." That's NOT VACATION.

Have SO much fun.

No laptop. It's a complete hassle across the board. In customs, worrying about it getting lost/dropped/stolen, the whole thing.

As everyone else said, if you must go online, drop by an internet cafe.

Take a notebook (paper kind).

Enjoy!!! Bon Voyage!!!
