Rogue was running through the forest at breakneck speed, legs and arms and cheeks scratched and still getting whipped by branches. She heard the scream and veered without slowing down, breath coming even, arms pumping, legs moving and using all their admittedly impressive length to cover ground. She moved fast and unhindered through the jungle. The pain didn't count as a hindrance.
She'd been chased by vampires. She hadn't been able to get her hands on anything and so she'd run. It had been her luck they'd gotten attracted to something else while she kept running, though she was feeling angry and sick over not having been able to stand and fight for longer than it took to club one til its head came off and run another through the chest cavity with a splintered branch.
She wasn't desensitized or overly-hyped enough for her stomach not to drop out when she caught sight of Madrox.
"Jamie?!" she called, and then ran harder. "Jamie! Jamie!"
He was white as a ghost, dried blood caked around his bottom lip from where he'd bitten down on it hours before, and he was shaking. Out of it. He heard something in the distance but he couldn't react.
She didn't slow enough. She ran into him. Of course, she wrapped her arms around him as she did, because he was the first person she cared about that she'd seen in hours, and hugged him as tight as she could.

It's probably just yourself.

"Jamie. Jamie Jamie oh God, Jamie."

Jamie blinked before he looked down at her, and something inside him snapped.
Not alone.
"Rogue," he said, nothing more than a vowel on the exhale.
