Potty about spoilers

I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan; I think the books are OK, but I've not been desperately looking forward to 7 or anything. Thing is, after this weekend I will get spoilered; and if I know how it ends I might not bother to read it at all... so I might see if I can get a cheap copy at midnight just so I can find out what happens from the source ( Read more... )

I pre-ordered the book from amazon.com a few weeks ago thinking that I might be able to avoid spoilers for a week or two tops. Fortunately my coworkers who read the book will be cool with not spoiling me, and I have less and less time for on-line activities, so I *may* pull it off.

Do you guys get BSG the same time as the US or later? If later, I could see how easy it would be to run into BSG spoilers.

Got the book at ASDA a little after midnight - £5 is less than typical paperback price so worth not waiting - read until I fell asleep around 7am, slept a few hours, woke and finished it. Now trying not to spoil Shef before her copy arrives :)

BSG didn't start here until the New Year, so there was about 4 months to be spoiled in :(

ASDA? What is that?

I'm now only about 200+ pages into the book. For the Half Blood Prince I felt I read too fast and actually would rather slow down the pace. That said, I also am incredibly curious.

4 months for BSG, argh, and BSG is a show where you want to avoid too many of those ... and yet, minutes after a show here in the US people talk all about the show on the LJ community for BSG.

Supermarket chain owned by Walmart. On the assumption that £5 is probably below cost (recommended retail price was around £18) buying the book there saves me money, and hurts the evil empire.

Communities I can avoid; it's when spoilers turn up in icons, sig files, even web comics that it gets difficult!
