it's still hard

You think I'd be used to it by now, but it is still so painful to return Julian. It's just for a week and I'll have him through August, but it is still hard. How do divorced people with children cope? I am having a hard enough time with a cat. :(

I'm sorry :( I would have a difficult time doing that with my cats, too.

Daniel's ex bawled and bawled the first time Dylan came to stay with us for 3 weeks. I felt a little sorry for her, but she's the one that moved him 1,000 miles away, thus necessitating his long trips from away her in the first place. Daniel has had to deal with much worse than her. I don't know how he has done it.

Divorce just sucks all around.

Are you two going to keep having Julian stay with one or the other for an indefinite time? Have you thought about getting another cat? I know you will still miss Julian, but maybe it will help? And then when Julian is with you, he'll have a buddy :)

I thought about that, but I'm really not supposed to have pets at my apartment. I feel a lot better today and am thankful that he will be back in a little over a week :)

I know it's hard sweetie. Just sent Dylan back to his dad. I won't see him again until Christmas. Going to miss having someone tell me that they love me all the time...

I can't even imagine that- I think when you don't have kids, the cats become the kids. I know mine are my absolute children!

I keep hoping that he will mellow out over time and eventually let Julian go to you. Fingers crossed.

honestly, he really loves Julian and Julian really loves him. I'd feel awful if he gave him up. *hug*
