QotM: Fly vs. Bee

In a one one one battle, who would win, a housefly (Musca domestica) or a honey bee (Apis mellifera)? Neither is a robot. The bee's swarm isn't around, and there's no poop around. They're in an open field, and they really don't like each other.

I'm not sure the housefly has any offensive capabilities, so that puts it on a pretty bad starting point. Barring having been trained by Batman, the honeybee will win.

And, of course, in winning, the honeybee will also lose. Such is the terrible way of open-field insectile gladiator sports.

Unless the fly could annoy the bee to death, I think it's the bee.
Now, add praying Mantis into the mix and YUM, she will have a nice lunch!

One is clearly armed while the other is not. While it may kill the honey bee if it is a worker, the sting is the key.
