I also chipped in a tenner. However, I was a bit disturbed by his immigration stance; like others, I read more on his politics after I had donated. On the other hand, as is typical with politicians, he was vague with regards to his real sentiments. I couldn't tell whether he was really a bigoted isolationist, or that there was a more positive interpretation.
Still, he's a refreshing change from the usual crop of Kansas Bible thumping fear mongers.
Actually, in response to a number of comments on his site, he replaced his immigration text with something that says, basically, "you guys made some good points and I'm rethinking it".
