Its good to see Chad recovering and Ryan coming to terms with what happened. The conversation between Ryan and Mrs. Evans was dead on. That is one of the hardest things to deal with, finding the balance between protection and suffocation.

I always enjoy watching the Danforth family at the business of being a family. You show their love and respect for each other so well.

I admit that I get a kick out of writing those domestic scenes. They're important to this series because how Chad and Ryan's relationship turns out has a lot to do with how supportive their families are during its initial stages. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thank you!

I love the contradictions in Mr. D. He loves his son to death, supports him 100%, but he doesn't want any part of knowing what Chad gets up to in his bedroom. Hee!

Thank you for the comment.

I'm so glad you posted this before I left for Worldcon later today! And nearly as glad that Ryan finally talked to people about the phone message. I've been thinking that he was the one who needed a therapy session that week. And it's always nice to see how well Ryan fits in to the Danforth family.

"You never spent much time in your mom's kitchen, did you?" she answered lightly. Ryan shrugged.

"My mother's never spent much time in her kitchen," he replied impishly.

Heh. Somehow, that doesn't surprise me. :)

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this. I love writing the Danforth family and am a little sorry that after the next part (when the boys move out into the world on their own) they'll play a smaller role in my work.

I love your 'verse, and this installment was all kinds of wonderful, as usual :)
