This sounds like a boring Ed Sheeran song and like Mr Sheeran, Ryan’s music career took off after going on a talent show or two, in the same year. After getting knocked out of The Voice Ireland, Ryan was free to pursue his career via Britain’s Got Talent which he did not win. So another Talent show reject goes to Eurovision.
Ryan’s Uncle went to Eurovision 17 years ago with a
similarly slow song. He finished second last. Ryan’s is also connected to Eurovision through Ireland’s 2006 entry,
Brian Kennedy, who was his mentor in The Voice Ireland. Brian finished which finished 10th. This song will not reach those lofty heights and may be lucky to make it through the semi.
Ryan just needs to fins another Talent show, like The Hit where he was not the ‘talent’. The Hit was a songwriting contest and Ryan was one of the singers brought in to ‘interpret’ a ‘writers vision’ and bring it to a wide audience. The song he sung won. He was not a winner, the song was. Ryan’s Eurovision song is not a winner
You can never accurately predict where Eurovision songs will finish. In 1982 Ireland finished second with "Here Today Gone Tomorrow". Who would have thought it would finish so high.
