A ‘rock’ song that features the phrase “Pardon me”? Well considering that the name ZiBBZ is a play on the word ‘siblings’, which this band is made up of, you can’t expect real rock. You also don’t expect qualification from Switzerland, and this will possibly follow that tradition.
This song sounds like American pop rock probably because Corinne Gfeller, one of the two ‘ZiBBZ’, is based in Los Angeles, and like liquid in chalk that shit really gets in. Meanwhile the other half of ZiBBZ, Stee Gfeller, was apparently a Swiss champion drummer as a child. Bulgaria has sent a
champion drummer to Eurovision. They sent him twice. He was modest,
samo shampioni. He never won, never even got close. There is an omen there for ZiBBZ.
The theme of this song is apparently bulling, and the writers are apparently against it, but the line “I can't do anything about it” has an air of resignation about it. This seems to be bullying as written by people who are far removed from it but pretentious enough to think they understand it, because they know everything. They should probably go back to LA, they have no place in the real world.
In 1974 Switzerland finished last. This years’ song may not do quite as bad but it will be close
