When I and Cam (my straight husband) saw the trailers for Mass Effect 2 we both said "Zomg, so totally romancing the woman played by Yvonne Strahovski, amirite? And wow, there's a lizard man love interest? Gross."

Guess who we both ended up with :D

As much as I do ship Fenris/meHawke I can definitely see Fenris/Isabela and Sebastian/Fenris. I can see Fenris being kind of a bad boyfriend to Isabela from what we see of his treatment of her, at least to start with. And with Sebastian there's the whole condescending nobleman/ex-slave elf power dynamic that could get skeevy. But Fenris has weird power dynamic issues whoever he romances (unless it was like...Zevran. That could be interesting. But unlikely :))

The obvious answer is to ship Fenris/everyone. If he's got issues with everybody, the only thing to do is to spread them all out and hope they distribute themselves evenly, right?

(I did actually ponder mage!f!Hawke/Fenris/Sebastian, but couldn't convince myself it would work and went for Isabela/mage!f!Hawke/Fenris instead. Which is not necessarily any less problematic, but is full of pretty :D)

You know, I think I just live for these posts about the BFF gay-gaming saga. I find this episode of it hilarious, and especially how Scott chose Isabela. Oh, you need to share more of these hilarious little snippets, because they make me giggle.

I like Fenris/Bethany! This is based pretty much entirely on that one party banter between Anders and Fenris where Anders is like "not all mages are weak, y'know!" and Fenris says, "Yes. Bethany was not weak." (And then Anders is all like "Neither am I" and Fenris is like "yeah, keep telling yourself that, sonny.")

So in my mind this translates to Fenris harts Bethany. Like, she's so impossibly sweet and good BUT SHE'S A MAGE but she's NICE and even though he doesn't trust anybody anymore there's something in him that can't help but trust her--it's got his head all in knots, until all he really knows is that he WANTS HER but it's WRONG and he can never have her and then he's all like RAWR and...yeah ( ... )
