The New York Times apparently believes that homeschooling causes murder.When any trained social worker would have known that there was something wrong with the woman who now stands accused of murdering her four kids? This case can be blamed on homeschooling about as much as that other case in Texas where a mentally unbalanced woman drowned her kids ( Read more... )

I think this is because the NYT believes in brainwashing by the state. I can't stand the whole notion that I'm not allowed to raise my children myself - it's my right and priviledge as a parent to do so. I believe that if the parents were going to kill their kids, then they'd do it if they were homeschooled or not. If they are pre-disposed to do it, then it doesn't matter, period.

The NYT, and, by extension, the Education Industry, seems to have forgotten the basic fact that parents are a child's first and best teachers. Why have they forgotten this, which we've know for, oh, about 6000 years? As is always the case, follow the money. End rant.
