See, Vash telling Knives that his ass is bleeding indicates that he cares deeply about his brother, even though magic healing plant sex should fix that right up. And blood is thicker than water, and Vash sure would like to get his winky wanked, but may not entirely be certain that Meryl has feelings for him. He know Knives will always accept his brother, even into his bed.
