John's role is just perfect, not taking crap from either Holmes brother. His refutation of Sherlock's "but he's fat!" tantrum was great.
And the sex--guh. I love the mix of the romantic and the practical: Sherlock's opinions about undressing, the consideration of safe sex, etc.
