Thank you so much for the lovely comment! I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of the relationship between McCoy and Spock; their friendly antagonism (which can totally be read as flirting, imo) is an interesting cover for a really strong and mutually supportive friendship.

I'm a little hesitant to cross-post this to a Spock/Uhura comm considering that the story not only breaks up the pairing, but also sets them both up with other people. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

That is most lovely. Like a segue into the feel of TOS. You have no conception of how much I love Kirk and Spock playing chess. And your Spock voice. It is exemplary. And McCoy's inner voice being such a contrast with his outer... so lovely.

Thank you so much! The chess games on TOS were one of my favorite parts of the show (not to mention the chessboard itself; so pretty!), and it was an interesting experience figuring out how to integrate the two canons. I'm glad to hear it worked for you.
