Opinions on The Fray?

I really like a couple of their songs. I'd never heard of them before. Sunday night they were on the Download session on Z104 (i think it was 104) and I was ever so pleased. I haven't heard much of their other stuff, so I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy the cd.

Mmm ... I disapprove.
I'm from Denver and they're supposed to be the band that's going to bring the Denver scene to the world, or something, so they're crazy overrated around here and I'm sick of them. But besides that, I don't like them much. I think they're just dumbing down and genericizing the Coldplay formula more and more, which just does not need to happen.
I should probably have more local pride. But whatever.

I saw them open for Weezer/Pixies and was unimpressed. Twice.

As for their recorded stuff? I've never bothered to listen to it enough to form opinions.
