I am not kidding, having a dishwasher changed the way I cook forever. No more balking at making spaghetti (yeah, I know, a two pot meal) because of all the cleanup afterwards, plus it's made me more adventurous and willing to try dishes that require lots of prep (like three pans, two mixing bowls, and some measuring things!). There is nothing nicer than turning on the dishwasher, leaving the house/going to bed, and coming back/waking up to a clean load of sparkling dishes. I finally invested in real glass glasses because now that I'm not handwashing, the breakage factor has gone down tremendously!
yes yes yes. i had a lot of glass. but i haven't used it in about 2 years. on account of the terrible kitchens i've had since i arrived. and now i fear that not only will i be cooking more, i'll be wanting all the fancy kitchen appliances that i used to covet before i moved here. uh-oh.
oh! i finally went to wisconsin! milwaukee. visited the museum of art. daytrip! pretty awesome.
and i went to mars cheese castle.
i can't recall where you live exactly. but for some reason i feel like it is ridiculously close.
aahhhh...i want a dishwasher. When We're Rich, and I have the money to have one installed. *nod*
nice place, though - i agree with you on the yellow. at first i thought it could be played up for the kitsch factor, and then i realized it's the color of bile and really not that attractive. :) so yeah, repaint slightly more muted.

I'm glad you guys are happy in the new place; it makes life a bit happier, I'm sure.
Just an opinion, but hardwood + socks + a little rum and coke is pretty fun...
