Some of you might have heard about the LA ex-cop who shot three cops, and that there's a manhunt for him. What you might not have heard is that LA cops have nearly killed three people, because their pickup truck matched the suspect's car's description. I agree that killing civilians was unnecessary and tragic (the girl was the daughter of one of the cops he named in his manifesto as being corrupt).

I do think that this attention on the corruptness of LAPD (which LAPD seemed to confirm with their shooting of the two women and their response since then) would never have happened if he hadn't killed people. I wish he hadn't killed innocents... but I'm not gonna feel too much sympathy if a corrupt cop or two gets shot.

And yes, the media pretty much ignores police brutality. You only see that covered on the internet.

I understand where you're going with this, but I also can't justify the killing of innocent people. I don't see how the deliberate killing of the cop/lawyer's daughter and his fiance justifies his goals to "wake up" the american public, it seems like revenge to me. I agree that there is institutionalize racism and corruption within LAPD and many government agencies, however, driving around shooting innocent people in their cars isn't the way to bring around reform. If anything, it gives people a reason to dismiss you and your cause, and to label you as a narcissist who is seeking attention ( ... )

I don't agree with killing innocent people either. I wish he'd kept the killing to corrupt cops.

If anything, LAPD have gone around shooting innocent people. If there hadn't been media attention on this manhunt, would people have known about LAPD shooting innocent people? Would they have cared?

I guess my question is more, when you have a corrupt legal system and corrupt police force, who polices the police?
