The things in the Wilderness are called Hollows. If you got a weapon strong enough, break their masks- best way to beat them. And by strong enough I mean can break stone.

If you don't have one, run. They're gonna eat your souls.

No contract. But I guess if they eat live humans they'll eat the dead ones too.
