credit unions are good for getting loans but usually I think you get better extras like online banking and useful ATM locations from a national bank. I have a credit union account and a bank account. With a credit union it is uncommonly easy to get a loan with low interest and they are flexible with payments and stuff, but they just don't have any ATMs I can use for free.
