WOW, really lovely, atmospheric arc! I love the contrast to the palettes here, warmth and coolness. The bird is gorgeous--its wings almost look iridescent, like butterfly wings, and I love the way you evoke this real sense of shining light in addition to these saturated--soaked, almost--palpable shadows. And I'm so curious about the forms in the left-hand background of the first image. They're alluring! Definitely looking forward to read the fic that your work inspired; there's already such a story being told here. Great work!

Thank you! Yes, I've recently started toying with palettes more to create mood - rather than, you know, sticking with real colours. Contrast wasn't originally what I was going for, but when I had chosen the red palette for the second one, I realised what I was doing and went all out with it. :)
The first one was the prompt image, so I'm still very proud of that one - glad the bird had the ethereal effect I was going for!

Yay for challenging yourself! Well worth it, I say, because you created an intriguing artset with the contrast in colour between the two images (heaven and hell, maybe? I haven't read the story;) The child does indeed look demonic *grins*
I really like the background of Castiel's drawing and that whole scene is so very fascinating. Love the purple glow and swirl around the bird ascending.
Good job!

Thank you!

Not quite Heaven and Hell, but close enough. I suppose in a way it does work out like that... ;) (Go, read it. No spoilers from me ;))

I tried very hard to get the glowy effect right - it's one of the things I really love doing in art, but it rarely fits with my usual portraitures. So yeah for glow-y things! :)

Wonderful art! I love Cas and the goose, and how you captured the dreamlike feel. You capture of the horror of toddler Sam running to his brother through the fire perfectly.

Thank you for sharing :)
