Next up! Project Phoenix Comicon: The Sith

Ok. So, since I have not yet found a fabric match that I like for my bridesmaid dress (still need to go to Fabrique, which I'm planning to do on Saturday or Sunday), I'm moving on to my next project. So fun! I made the Jedi outfit from this pattern twice before-- the tunic and the robe-- it's a great pattern. Can't wait to see how it turns out for you!

Oh, awesome! What colors and fabrics did you use? I think I am mainly going for stash busters, but will probably end up buying something for the outer robes. :)

I made one in black for my cousin who wanted to be all Sithalicious... the main gi was just black cotton broadcloth, But I made the "vest" from a cool thick crinkled spandex that gave it a great texture, and then I gave her a pleather wench corselet to wear instead of a regular belt. She looked HAWT!!

Cousin's Sith

The second I made for my son, out of a thick natural crinkled cotton-- that worked perfectly and looked "real." The pleather belt I was particularly proud of-- I used cheap purse feet from Joann's for the studs, along with a figure-8 belt fastener and a spring hook hanging off the side-- it actually held his toy lightsaber! The Outer robe was a rough-weave fake linen in a nice autumn brown color-- also looked very "real" and my son thought he was just the shit when he wore it. (I think he was 4 or 5 in this pic-- he's 10 now!)

What a cool project! Ben and I want to do Star Wars costumes at some point. Maybe for the release of the next movie. :)

Seems like there is always local cons in the spring and in the fall that are well attended for Star Wars people. After we are done with Phoenix Comicon we will probably try to go to one of those, too! Maybe we should push for a sci-fi event for DFWCG... Or just wear it to CoLoW... ;)
