Beautiful story. The location & situation & imagery--all of it is so exotic, a perfect thing for a dramatic farewell scene. There's so much more that could be written with this story; it's like you gave us just a sip from the well. How did they meet? How will they meet afterward? What about their pasts? What will happen to them?
