Chuck was up early because he hadn't bothered with the dance last night - it would just interrupt his training schedule. In fact, he'd already had his morning training done by the time most of the occupants of the dorms were only waking up

And lo, there was a girl in the doorway.

"Hey," Angela said casually. "Have you ever had an alternate universe kid before?"

That was a thing, according to Other-Dad.

Chuck looked up from his cereal.

"What," he snapped.

"A portal dropped me off in the park," Angela said shortly. "On the other side of it, a twenty-five-years-older version of you is my dad."

Chuck could roll with some of the weird shit that happened around here. That one, though? He might've heard about it, but he hadn't heard about it.

"Get out and go bug someone else," he said, lifting his spoon. "I'm busy."
