Epilepsy day

The ol' brain is shorting out again today, so I'm keeping things pretty low key. I tried to sleep in as long as I could. That will frequently help the seizures to go away, but it did nothing for me today ( Read more... )

Yeah, I've considered that too, that I'm only remembering dreams that I'd forgotten. But too often they're so specific to something I'm currently seeing, it would be too much a coincidence (too often) that I actually had been dreaming it recently.

Is there medication you can take to help reduce the seizures? I know there was something someone else took for his seizures but his weren't related to epilepsy.

Actually, there are meds that can pretty much keep them from ever happening, but I would have to take them every day and from what I've read, the body grows to depend on them, so if I miss a day, I would probably have my spells. As it is, I get them 5-10 times a year and usually they aren't even as bad as they were the other day. So changing my life so much as to have to take meds a couple times a day every day just doesn't seem worth it to me. If the szs increase in frequency or severity, I would gladly get on them. but for now, they're just an occasional irritation to me. When I'm not having them, I generally forget they are a part of my life. If I were on meds, it would be with me always.
