I received my first laser hair removal treatment (of my underarms) on Friday and all I can say is IT HURT! Not a little bit, either. Now, I have no idea what kind of laser they are using and it is quite possibly one of the older, more painful ones. I'll call them and find out later. I just found out that the place uses diode lasers, which aren't the new premium but (according to them) are the only FDA approved laser for 'permanent' hair removal. Other lasers are still too new for proper studies -- that doesn't mean they don't work. I have skin type 3, and diodes are more likely to be painful in untrained/non-doctor hands. I wish I had gone for IPL or Pulsed Light Lasers, they seem to be the most pain-free. Feels like a 'rubber band snapping' -- what bull.
