Metro Eliminates Paper Transfers

You will no longer get a discount when you transfer to bus if you are using the 7 day pass. At some point this year Metro plans on offering the ability to add passes to SmartTrip cards. Until then you lose the discount. One point you missed, is than in the transition Metro changed the way you get a discount when transferring from rail to bus. You now recieve only a $0.50 cent discount on your bus fare when transferring from rail to bus. However, you now also recieve a $0.50 discount on your rail fare when transferring from bus to rail. That means the discount has increased to $1 from $0.90 roundtrip.

Unless you are like me and tend to walk to the metro. When I used to live farther from the metro, I'd walk the mile to the station and save $1.25 but ride the bus home at $0.35. Now I live only four blocks and walk both ways unless it is pouring rain... and sometimes even then.

I missed the raise to $0.50. That's a bummer. They're saving all this money cutting out paper just to raise the rates somewhere else. Thanks for pointing it out.
