Prologue
Hair, perfect. Face, smooth. Clothes, expensive, but did he care about the price?
Of course not! Why would he? He was afterall Kim Jaejoong, youngest child and only son of the Kim family. A wealthy rich family who own the biggest telemarketing company in the world. Loved by the top of society, despised by the middle class citizens.
The whole city knew the Kim family, and they all had the same oppinions about them:
1. They had the most gorgeous daughters, most already moved out and married.
2. Their only son was a spoiled brat.
Jaejoong knew how people thought about him, but he didn't care. He assumed the other inhabitants were just jealous about the things he could do and they couldn't. He'd just laugh at them.
Luckily for him, there were people who did think he was a good person, eventhough he could be arrogant and was spoiled as hell, his best friends Park Yoochun and Shim Changmin, both children from wealthy families, were always with him to hang out. Not only they got scold at, but they were admired by all girls on their school, from freshman to seniors!
Jaejoong of course enjoyed the attention, and sometimes made use of that. But he wasn't interested in any of those girls, actually he wasn't even looking for a relationship or love. He wanted to enjoy his youth, he wanted to party until it was too late. So he could often be found in clubs or at parties, always together with his 2 best friends.
But his time of partying would stop right now.
"What?! A charity project?!"
---
"Could you repeated that for me please.... I think I misheard.."
"Jaejoong, You're going to participate in a charity project." His father repeated, his hands folded and eyes focused on his son, who's face was deformed with shock. Mr Kim found it rather amusing to see his son in such state. He had been walking around with the idea of getting Jaejoong to work for a while, he didn't do anything useful in his live.
So he started searching for a good job for his son, somewhere he could learn the difficulties of life, that not all people are that wealthy as them. That some people have to work hard for their savings.
"Whoa Whoa! Wait a minute!" Jaejoong said waving his arms dramatically. "You got to be kidding me right? I mean, it's April the first right? Right?"
Mr Kim couldn't restrain a smirk that popped up his face. "Although I have to admit I find it amusing, but I'm not kidding you, son."
Jaejoong's jaw dropped, what?! If his father wasn't joking with him, it meant he was serious... Very serious! "Abeoji!(t/n:father) You can't be serious! What did I do wrong?"
"Well, what do you think you did wrong, Jaejoong?"
The 18 year old bit on his lip, what did he do? Except for partying and hanging out with Yoochun and Changmin he didn't do anything... So why would his father think he did something wrong?"
Mr Kim sighed as he though Jaejoong was taking too long to answer his question, he thought it was better to answer the question himself. "You don't do anything useful with your life Jaejoong, you don't study enough, your highest priority is going to clubs with your friends, but have you ever thought of a future?"
"I did but.."
"No, you're not going to talk yourself out of this, you're going to attend to that charity project and that's it!"
Jaejoong frowned at his father, who glared back at him, this meant war. "I'm.Not.Going."
"Oh yes you are going! No exceptions!"
"One last time, I'm not going to make myself dirty for other people, that's just gross!"
Mr Kim narrowed his eyes. "That's exactly what I mean Jaejoong, you don't have respect for people who don't have the money we have, and if you don't respect them you should learn to respect them!"
"I don't need to, cuz I'll never have to get near them!"
"That's it! If you're going to continue like this I'll take your credit card, do you want that?!"
That made Jaejoong's bloodpressure rise. "... Are you mad?!"
"You'll leave tomorrow morning, and you're not going alone, this was a project set up by Park Yoochun's and Shim Changmin's parents as well." Mr Kim said calm, trying to moderate his annoyance. "You'll stay there for a month, I think that's enough."
"God! Abeoji, I hate you!"
---
"Eomeoni!~(t/n:mother) Why~"
Mrs Kim felt 2 arms snaking around her waist. "Jaejoongie, what's wrong, Jagiya?(t/n:honey)"
"Abeoji said he'd send me off to a charity project!" Jaejoong whined at his mother. "I don't want to go~"
"Awh Jagiya~ Don't be like that, it's for your own good!"
"But Eomeoni! I can't go." Jaejoong whined on, hugging his mother even tighter. "Those people there are so... dirty and gross! I don't want to make my hands dirty!"
Mrs Kim turned her son around, so she could stare at him, pouting. "But Joongie, you should see this as a chance to get to know how people with less money than us have to survive! Those people are poor, maybe you can even teach them some things and maybe you meet new friends!"
"I don't need new friends! I have friends already Umma!"
"I'd really want you to go Jaejoongie, some fresh air of the countryside will do you good!"
After yelling and screaming incoherent things to his mother he quickly dashed up the stairs, screaming his aggression against the soft pillows of his kingsize bed. The whole room was just fit for a prince and had all kinds of luxury! Did he have to give up this for some stupid poor people?
No way he was going to do that!
He deserved all this stuff, he had the money to buy everything he wanted to, and now he had to change to a stupid social worker? Did he have to leave Seoul for a stupid ass village at the other side of the country, hours away from his home?
One good thing about the whole charity project was he wasn't the only one who had to go, luckily Yoochun and Changmin were there, without them he wouldn't have made it for sure!
How was he going to survive this....
