It was a rainy day, although it was already the end of May, somehow the weather wouldn't change, rain poured from the sky, the wind blew icy, people prefered to stay indoors on days like that, but not all could choose.
Junsu was waiting at the busstation, he was soaking wett, his glasses balanced on the end of his noise, his arms wrapped around his bookcase that held his body warm, the tiny droplets fell down on his head and shoulders, he shivered, why did it take so long, he had been waiting here for already 15 minutes, but the bus hadn't arrived yet.
Today was his first real jobinterview, and he totally screwed it up, finally he thought he found the right business, a place he could finally make money for a proper living, but because of his shyness and nervousness he could even speak full sentences.
And he really, did have a reason for that.
The manager of the company was a tall, handsome man, his broad shoulders and chest covered with a clean, tidy suit, like a real businessman used to look like, but yet he was so different from the other businessmen Junsu ever saw, his father was a businessman, he always went to dinners with the other businessmen. But they were all so plain, so dull.
But in that man's eyes was a spark that no other man with jobs like his had, a spark of pureness, honesty... When he had to tell Junsu he thought he wouldn't really fit the job and told him to practice on his speech in public, he had somehow smiled in compassion, like he would loved to have accepted him.
That guy kept popping up Junsu's brain as he thought back about his huge blunder.
He glared at his watch, 20 minutes had passed, he softly cursed, he damned the busdriver for not showing up, he damned the people who built this busstation to forget to built a windshield, otherwise he wouldn't be cold and soaked. He sniffed and hoped desperately the bus wouldn't take any longer, and that he wouldn't catch a cold.
But worst of all would be, what did he have to tell his dad... since he didn't get the job? He sighed out of despair, that would mean a preach that would last the whole evening and would start again the next morning.
He got to the edge of the pavement, to try to see the bus around the cornor, something he shouldn't have done, on the same moment a big silver mercedes drove through a big pool of water that had gathered in the gutter, making it splash up right onto Junsu, "Shit, THANKS YOU JERK!" He huffed loudly, but then, the car drove backwards, back to Junsu, who bit on his lips, he and his bad mouth.
When the car stopped the window automatically got down, then Junsu gasped when he saw a familiar face.
"Oh, Junsu-ah, I'm so sorry about that."
"It's ... it's okay.." Junsu hiccuped to the manager he met earlier, "It's nothing Park-Shii."
"But you're soaked, you sure you're alright?" The man asked kindly, examining the poor, wett guy from head to toe. "Were you waiting for the bus?"
"Y-yeah I'm fine, and.. yes I was waiting for the bus.." Junsu replied quietly.
"You didn't know the busdrivers are on strike today?"
Junsu's jaw dropped, great, that would mean he wouldn't be able to get home. "Awh man, how am I supposed to get home.." He moaned out loud.
"Where do you live?"
"A few miles away from Seoul.."
"I could bring you home if you want." The man said friendly, opening the cardoor to him, "Hope in before you'll get even more soaked."
"Ah, it's alright Park-shii, I'll call my father to pick me up." Junsu said nervously, already taking his phone out of his pocket to call his parents.
The man sighed. "Do you really want to wait, come, I'll bring you."
"But... I"
"Hey, I just offer you to drive you back home, and you don't take it?" The man asked with disbelief, "Or did your parents teach you never to get in a stranger's car?" The last part came out with a quiet laugh.
"No but... what if I'll be a burden to you?" He asked, his cheeks colored a soft, peach-bottom pink.
"Ofcourse not, really."
Junsu hesitated for a while, but got in soon after, the temperature in the car was pleasant, the man smiled kindly to him when he putted on his seatbelt, the only reaction Junsu could give was a quick nod and mouthed a quiet "Thank you".
The drove through town, the windscreen wiper made their way visible, the two didn't really knew how to start a conversation.
"P-Park-shii... sorry to ruin your morning.." Junsu stuttured.
"You didn't ruin my morning Junsu-ah, and please, don't call me Park-Shii." The man replied with a smile.
"Okay.. ehh."
"Yoochun."
"Okay Yoochun..."
"But say Junsu-ah, why were you feeling so nervous during your job interview?" Yoochun asked, suddenly serious. "Because when I read your letter I thought you'd be more.. confident? Sorry if I insult you.."
"No .. no you're right.. it was my first job interview ever." Junsu told, he ruffled his hands through his wett hair. " So.. I was really nervous."
"I see, well, like you talk now you don't seem nervous to me.." Yoochun smiled, his eyes still on the road.
"I... Really?" Junsu looked up at the man beside him, his cheeks went red again, they now even glowed. "Oh eh.. Thanks."
"A tip for your next jobinterview, try to relax when you're about to get in, take care of your breathing and always shake hands with the manager at first."
Junsu nodded. "My father told me the same thing..."
"What's your father?"
He sighed, "He's a salesman, works at Hyundai,.. he'll be so, so mad at me I didn't get the job." Defeated he hung his head down, "You'll be the last person who'll see me alive!"
Yoochun laughed, "You're really funny Junsu-ah, ofcourse you won't die because of your father, will you?"
"My father's so mean," Junsu suddenly started to whine. "He always puts so much pressure on me, he wants me to become as succesful as he is... but it doesn't work out like I had planned, so he'll probably kill me tonight..."
"Oh, he's that kind of that," Yoochun nodded understanding, "I know what you mean."
Junsu lifted his head, " You do?"
"Unfortunately yes, but he did brought me at where I am now, without him I'd be still cleaning dishes at a restaurant and own much less than I do now."
"Your father must be a very strict man.."
"Strict but wise."
Junsu gazed at Yoochun, the way he spoke, the way he was just driving there, his face on the road ahead of them, it distracted him, his face, his jawline was so masculine, and his adamsappel, he couldn't keep his eyes of it.
Yoochun noticed the younger man looking at him, he had that kind of charm, innocence maybe? The eyes of the man burned through his head, it was hard not to look away.
"I hope your father isn't going to be too upset with it, I don't want you to get in trouble."
"Aah.. Yeah, I think I'll just go talk to him and.. see what happens. "
"Hey, you really, honestly wanted that job right?" Yoochun asked curious.
"Ofcourse, I had it all pointed out, my whole future was there, but then I had to screw it up, " Junsu said sorrowful, " And ofcourse I wanted to make my father proud."
Yoochun just nodded back, deep in thought.
They didn't talk, untill Junsu read the signs and saw his village. "Turn right here."
After several minutes they reached the house, when Yoochun stopped the car Junsu didn't get out yet, he prepared himself for what could happen inside, his father would be waiting to hear the "good news".. he would be very disappointed.. "Thanks for brining me home, Yoochun-shii."
"It's no big deal, I feel glad I could help you."
"Well, bye then."
"Junsu-ah," Yoochun grabbed the man's hand, brushing his fingertips on his skin. "Don't be late tomorrow morning." He winked, Junsu was flabbergasted.
"P-Pardon?"
"Don't be late, you'll have to work tomorrow at 8."
Junsu's eyes grew big. "So.. So you mean I..."
"Yeah, you got the job." Yoochun smiled.
Out of pure happiness he wrapped his arm around his new boss' neck, his cheek brushing Yoochun's, but when he finally realise what he did he froze, Yoochun was kind of shocked too, he didn't see this coming, but to make this situation less awkward he patted Junsu's back.
"I ehm.. Should better tell my father the great news." Junsu said blushing, "T-Thanks again..."
"No problem, I'll see you tomorrow." He winked, making Junsu's heart miss one beat, quickly he got out of the car, waved at Yoochun while he drove away and sighed, smiling he scared to the cloudy sky, rain still pouring down on him.
He giggled softly before he got inside to tell his father the great news.
End.
