Before I begin, anyone agree with me that "Chips Ahoy" cookies should temporarily be changed to ( Chips Avast? )

I think you did a pretty good job except for one tiny detail. Number 5.
She [Elizabeth] decides that they fight Davy Jones and free Calypso,

She does decide to fight, but I she never was on team, set-angry-sea-goddess-free, Barbossa took her pieces. Oh how do we feel about Ragetti's "speaking like you were a lover"? It brings up a different connotation of the word "release".

*waves*

I came over by your dA account and must say that this is one of the more entertaining, entirely true overview of the movie. =D

...and so he's back at the end, then? Who'd be bound to the ship after? Because the Dutchmen needs a captain as they liked to repeat over and over....

ahahahahahaha. you summed it up in by-far the most entertaining way. LOVE the descriptions and snide remarks. You should really do movie reviews for ALL of the epic series or highly anticipated movies.

btw, came over from dA.

I thought that the captain of the Dutchman had to stay captain forever and ever and came on shore once every ten years to see their beloved... and that the reason Davy got octopus-faced was because he shirked his duties in ferrying the dead souls across because he was so angry at Calypso for not coming.

That's what I understood... that Calypso wasn't there after 10 years so Davy Jones went postal and decided killing people was better than helping them pass on... so he became sort of cursed... and fishy... cause Will didn't look the least bit like a fishy...

Yes and no. I'm not sure if this link will work, because the forum seems to be taking a bit of a hiatus, but this post (once it's up again) ought to clarify: http://www.wordplayer.com/forums/forumemo.html?read=98721

In summary:
Davy Jones would have been free to leave the Flying Dutchman after ten years of service if, at the end of those ten years, Calypso had been waiting and faithful to him. She was not, though, and it condemned him to captain the Dutchman until his death, which would necessitate a new captain. Davy was none to pleased about this turn of events and shirked his duty of ferrying the souls. This resulted in Octopus!Davy and the similar toll on his crew.

Wills, however, was a good little captain of the Dutchman, and Liz was a faithful wife, and as such, after ten years he was free to go, and the Dutchman had to go bugger off and find its own new captain.

Which is totally not what I got from the movie. I thought Wills and Liz ( ... )
