No it's a US protest against SOPA and PIPA. A LOT of sites are going black today.

Yeah I know what it is but google looked just fine for me. Wikipedia was blacked out and many other sites but nothing on google.

Ahhhh. I think it was probably the same thing LJ was doing: saying they were against it but not necessarily shutting down.
