Blue Moon, Spoiler Alert

So I saw Avatar (as in blue people, not last airbender) and it was good. It wasn't great, mind you, but for all the potential it had to fail, it didn't, and it entertained. The special effects were very nice, though they were also smoke and mirrors to cover over the many holes and a few just plain bad scripting decisions ( Read more... )

"Perhaps my biggest disapointment was the lack of blue wang. I mean, COME ON, James Cameron. With Watchmen out, you had the chance to make 2009 the Year of the Blue Wang"

I love you so much, Lizzy.

Yeah, all the rave reviews revolve around the fact that it's SO PRETTY and I keep wanting to go "and how was the movie?" Pretty doesn't really sell me as much as the world wishes it would.

"Can we stop making White Guilt Eased by Taking Over the Tribe movies now?"

What? WHAT? Please tell me they did not put White Man, as nice and helpful as he may be, at the head of a culture he was completely new to in gratitude for his "saving" them from something he wrought upon them himself in the first place.

You never seem to leave me bored with your journals especially with such commentaries. xD

I think what they originally meant for the change in the way we make movies was definitely directed towards the cgi effect. Cuz I'm pretty sure that they weren't quite talking about captivating plots and witty dialogue in the long run.

I thought it was a nice movie overall, very visiually pleasing which is what they were aimng for. I figured it wouldn't satisfy a REAL scifi buff but that's the thing now adays everything is so mainstream that the media tries so hard to appeal to everyone as a whole in hopes of dragging in more cash.

It's annoying and frustrating because they keep taking away any little thing that seperates a true fan of something and making EVERYONE a fan of it.

It's nice to hear your thoughts on this though. I can't wait to see what you think of Sherlock Homles! xDDDD And no I don't plan on seeing that one...
