i'm currently staying with my partner in his mom's house, and though she employs a cook/all-around house-helper, he and i occasionally - okay, often - find ourselves having to make our own meals because what's already in the pot isn't really appealing ( Read more... )

hmmm. for pork chops, it depends on what you want it to taste like. i usually bake mine, because the sauce that comes out is also what you can use for gravy. :) i like mine with lots of garlic, toyo and suka, lemon or calamansi (depending on your taste) and oyster sauce. soak for about an hour. and then either pan-sear or bake.

as for risotto...not much of a fan. i'd rather cook some kick-ass pasta or seafood. :)

my current all-purpose marinade is olive oil, garlic, some soy sauce, some calamansi, and a wee hint of rosemary. that's usually an overnight soak. then pan-sear.
