"So did you ask him?" the Doctor asked, from behind James as the red headed chef stirred the sauce in the large pan. The Doctor was chopping onions on a green chopping board along with various other vegetables.

"Ask who?" James questioned, turning to face the Doctor. He had felt nervous at first as it was a different kitchen to what he was used to but once he had gotten started, he felt more at ease. "Ask him what?" He knew exactly who the Doctor was talking about and what the Doctor wanted to know. Sometimes the Doctor could be too nosy for his own good.

"JJ. And about his surname."

"Maybe."

"And?"

"Does it matter?" James asked, looking over to the blond chef in question, who looked back at him and grinned. James smiled as he remembered the conversation between him and JJ in the changing room as James was putting on his chef's whites.

"No. I'm just curious."

"It's not my secret to tell," James finally said.

"I don't care if he is or not. Look at me. I'm a Time Lord. I'm not bothered if he grows fur and a tail. I already have you to do that so one more won't make any difference."

"Uh, Doctor, you do realise he can hear ever word that you are saying, don't you?" James added with a smirk, as he turned back to the sauce.

"Oh!" the Doctor said, turning to look at JJ who quickly pretended to be busy. "So was that a yes?"

"Not telling..."

"You're a very stubborn... strawberry."

"What? You've been hanging around Jack too long."

"Uh, nothing."

"You are a very weird individual, Doctor. And I mean that in the nicest way."

"Names have meanings, you know that."

"Yes."

"Your surname means..."

"Yes, I know what it means," James interrupted. "Ironic that I picked it before I was bitten..."

"And your real surname is..."

"Yes, Doctor, I know."

"And JJ's is also important. Must mean something."

"You're reading a lot into this, Doctor," James said, stirring the sauce again. "If he wanted you to know, he'd tell you."

"But I want to know." The Doctor looked between James and JJ. "At least we can tell the difference between you. You've green checks on your trousers and JJ has red ones."

"Red is not my colour."

"You nearly done with the onions?" JJ asked, coming over to stand next to the Doctor and watching as the Doctor used the knife to scrape the chopped onions into a medium sized metal container.

"Done!" the Doctor declared happily, putting the knife down on the board. He then moved to the basin and washed his hands and dried them.

"Thank you," JJ said, accidentally bumping into James as the red head turned to face them. "Sorry, James."

"If you would stand behind me..," James stated.

"Sorry."

"Trying to bump into James, JJ?" Harry teased, coming up to stand next to JJ. In her hands she was carrying a tray of chocolate cupcakes.

"Mm!" the Doctor said, noticing the cupcakes straight away as he came back from the sink. "Could I have one, please?"

"Oh, go on then," Harry answered. "But one, mind you."

Yes, Doctor, only one," James added, as the Doctor picked up a cupcake.

"Mmm, thank you," the Doctor said with a charming grin.

"I'm amazed you asked this time," James stated in amazement.

"I ask you."

"Now you do."

"Only because you kept hitting my hands with a metal spoon," the Doctor muttered as he nibbled the cupcake.

James looked at JJ and Harry and mimed someone dipping their fingers in somewhere and indicated the Doctor.

"Ah," JJ realised with a grin. "I can see why you smack him if he does that."

"Oi!" the Doctor protested.

"He doesn't do it now. I've been training him," James stated. "Now I hope can train Jack to behave too."

"Why? What has he done?" Harry questioned curiously.

"Let's just say, my boss has not forgiven Jack for what we, in the kitchen, like to call the 'baked bean incident'. On the plus side, I discovered that Jack doesn't like the mop..," James answered, turning back to his sauce.

"Now, I'm curious," JJ commented, adding the onions to his own pan.

"Will explain later."

"Okay."
