Gah. I take back everything nice I ever said about Cameron. Well, I still respect her tenacity, but she's seriously not fit to be a doctor. She needs to get the hell out of the hospital. I re-watched "Sleeping Dogs Lie" this afternoon, and noticed something I hadn't during the first viewing that completely appalled me.

Cameron has always been about the ethics of medicine. That's who she is. And the tube down Hannah's throat was hurting, Cameron didn't make it hurt more. It's Cameron trying to make Hannah realize what she's doing is wrong.

It makes for interesting tv to watch Cameron's idealism and naivety slowly get beaten down. It's sad to see its effect on her but interesting to watch.

But the point is, she's Hannah's doctor. It's not her job to teach moral lessons to her patient - it's her job to treat them. No, she didn't make the tube hurt, but she clearly shoves it down there with no thought of comforting Hannah, or warning her, as she would with another patient. Gone is the doctor who told Foreman not to poke Hannah with a needle to keep her awake because it hurts her. This is a Cameron who has forgotten her place as Hannah's doctor, judged her, and found her wanting.

Although I agree with Cameron's morals, the fact that she, as a doctor, let her personal feelings get in the way and treated her own patient so callously is reprehensible.
