I know, and horses are livestock legally, so there are less protections for them than cats and dogs. The pics weren't that bad, not compared to the pics of horses after their trip on the double decker trailers to the slaughterhouse.

Have you heard about that National Animal ID system congress is trying to pass?

I hate that rich people get away with everything. If most of the time they get away with killing people, there isn't much hope for them to be punished for harming animals. And anytime there is money to be made from animals, the animals always suffer.

I feel bad for the grooms, the people that cared for those horses everyday and slept in the barn with them and basically lived with them. Maybe there will be some kind of national outcry about this. If it had happened on live tv like Eight Belles going down at the Derby... *sigh* Prolly not though.

I was concerned about the way your sutures were removed. The lump you took out of the wound - could it have been a remnant of suture material that your body formed a cyst around?

Abuse of horses and all animals is horrendous and unbelievable. How can these things be happening in 2009?

The drugs given to the polo ponies - Versailles Rose says there are no effective consequences because the offenders are rich. I agree. More than likely they have powerful lobbyists or they make campaign contributions.

Oprah has run shows about pedophiles and the lack of prosecution of cases or that offenders receive light sentences. What is going on?

The lump wasn't something from the surgery or the sutures. Believe me, if there was anything in there, I would have found it when the thing ripped apart and was gaping open like a fish. I think it was the infection that never drained much, it just mummified and solidified in there. I could see in there, I have a subway running under the scar tissue, the cut's healed over on the surface, but has yet to heal up underneath ( ... )
