yesterday was halloween! i hope it was much less horrible for you guys than it was for me. i had to write a five page paper about brazilian music and globalization, have a piano lesson, go to classes, read dante's "purgatorio", and die of exhaustion ( Read more... )

hehe what kind of candy?

My Halloween sucked major ass. I just fought with my family and did some dorky drawings because I have nothing better to do with my time. :(

making dorky drawings a great way to use your time! especially when you have millions of adoring fans on livejournal that love to look at your imaginative caricatures of harry potter characters. (but you never post anymore. what happened???)

i don't know what kind of candy the kids got in all the sleazy shops in my neighborhood, because i felt creepy asking them to show me what was in their bags, but i hope it wasn't poison.

i miss childhood.

Halloween here blew goats. I had class from 6:30pm-10:00pm, thus killing any possible plans. intended to go out to the Castro, but considering that 9 people were shot at the festivities there, I guess it's better that I couldn't.

sigh--I miss Halloween in New York.

it's crowded as all hell, but it's fabulous and decadent and wonderful. and no one gets shot at the Village parade. the only inconvenience is if you have to cross 6th Ave, but one can always deal with that by cutting through the subway tunnels.

I miss the policemen on their horses and the barricades. I miss the blankets of orange and brown leaves, and the delicious crunch when you trample them underfoot. I miss riding the subway in the prerequisite skimpy costume, and "store to store" trick-or-treating.

and yes, I miss the conspicuously placed sex shops.

thank you for not going out to the castro and dying!

i didn't get to see the parade this year, on account of the fucking paper. (i know that "having homework" is never more than a convenient excuse not to go do something. even so, i resented the paper a lot.)

I know how you feel. currently buried under a great deal of it myself. fortunately have passed the midterm hurdle, but am now dealing with all the papers leading up to final papers, final papers themselves, and finals prep...and then...in December, of course, finals.

blah.

I miss having zero responsibilities.

as much as I like learning and all...there was something to be said for being a vapid wage-slave.
