Catnip

I've always wondered about catnip and big cats, and this pretty much answers the question. And, frankly, I'm not surprised about African lions. :-)

lions actually DO react to catnip.
and lavender for that matter.
i have seen other videos that show it - as with all cats though, there are some individuals that simply don't care.
