I Hate Lazy Writing

Jun 30, 2009 18:29

One of the reasons that I have problems watching a lot of TV shows is simply lazy writing. By that I mean- fact check people, it's not that hard. I don't blame the actors- generally they're trying to do their best with the material given to them.

If you haven't watched Season Three of House, MD, and you plan to, I suggest you stop reading.

Aren't most shows, I've seen my share, have mostly incorrect facts anyways? I know how you feel about that!

Yeah, this is why I have a lot of trouble with most non-sci-fi/fantasy tv shows. At least in sci-fi and fantasy there's more leeway to make things up. It just seems to me that if a writer is going for strong realism- than there details should be realistic. ;)

Its strange but I have never ever watched "House".
Because of Satellite TV, it is possible to watch at least one episode every night but I have never ever watched it.
Two reasons......
trailers kinda show gregory house to be a very unpleasant man
and that accent!!!!

Hugh Laurie...is a brilliant comic actor. But he cant convince me as an American doctor.

I love Hugh Laurie, really do- we've seen "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" as well as some "Wooster and Jeeves.'

His accent for House is actually bang-on. The producer didn't even realize that he wasn't American right away. The character is essentially a genius at making connections, and gets bored easily. He's also in constant pain due to a leg muscle problem. So he is rather unpleasant, and sarcastic- but his mannerism/comments do make my hubby and me laugh.

I agree completely. I think this thread was Suit Induced, like Vogler at the end of the first season. But, no, that does not excuse lazy writing.

Oh yes, the Vogler thing irritated me so much! (He violated HIPAA too...) So yeah, glad both are over.
