the lateness of the hour. gossip girl. vanessa/nate. Vanessa stops eating in cafes. Nate finds her anyways.

sigh. I don't even know you guys. Nate and Vanessa are sickeningly, awesomely adorable and I was doing a Season 2 rewatch. There are a lot of feeeeeeeeelings.

( The last time they were in Europe, it started with a bet. )

Thanks! I'm barely in fandom anymore, but rewatches were making me SO nostalgic. This two were so incredibly cute with each other, and I got completely overwhelmed haha.

Ugh. UGH. Yes.

I always thought I was like the only one who shipped this, but. Lo and behold! I really did like Vanessa in S1 and S2, and was so disappointed with the direction her character (and, tbh, all the other characters - oh, GG writers. How I loathe thee) took after high school graduation. She and Nate were good together, and I love how you've captured so many aspects of that nostalgia and hope and wariness here. I really like the part about Nate never having had a friend who's a girl - he has a face designed to fall in love with. He falls in love easily, he's sincere. You've got that down, and with beautiful prose to boot. I loved it.

I think we're definitely in the minority shipping wise, but I do think everyone appreciated them for their cuteness. Vanessa was at her most likeable when she was with Nate without a doubt, and he seemed extremely genuine, I think, especially after all that mess with Blair and Serena.

I really needed fic and couldn't find nearly enough, so I had to write it haha. Feel free to leave recs if you have them.

Yeah, I agree. They were cute! And at the very least I liked them better with each other than I did with anyone else. But it really went beyond that for me, I defs shipped them.

and he seemed extremely genuine, I think, especially after all that mess with Blair and Serena. TOTALLY. Vanessa really brought him down to earth, I think. Nate is very easily caught up in the high drama, but with Vanessa things seemed easier for him.
