Jenny’s hair is still blonde, the blunt edges brushing against the sharp line of her collarbone. Her bangs are gone. Dan tells her he likes it better that way. It’s been five years since New York and Jenny still wears black eyeliner.

The iPhone slips from between her shoulder and ear and crashes to the floor.
“Hello?” she asks, flustered, “are you still there?”
The voice is clear and clipped, the neat edges of her British accent crisp through the speaker.
“We can arrange a flight for Friday,” she says.
Jenny gets drunk on the flight over off vodka tonics and flirts with the businessman next to her. He looks like Nate, or at least how Nate could look in fifteen years. Love Actually plays on the TV nestled on her lap but she barely watches. He slips her a business card but Jenny’s not really interested

I really didn't think anyone would bite with this pairing, so I literally did a high pitched squee when I saw this.
This is so fantastic and just perfect. Thank you so much! I love how Jenny's attempting to grow up, but falls into similar patterns of destruction and Carter is no help at all, but that is what makes it so interesting.
