So, today started out with an abject refusal to get out of bed for my team's 7am status call (the horror of working with East Coast folks). This surf camp thing sounds intriguing. Are you a participant or instructor?

Hahaha - I wish I were good enough to be an instructor! I'd quit my day job and just surf all day. No, I'm going with the hope that a week of solid surfing with a bunch of instructors giving out advice will boost my skill level into the solid intermediate-to-advanced range. Plus these guys do surf all day, so I'm hoping I'll be able to wheedle out some of the less-known sites to hit the waves in the area from them over the course of the week.

Gah - I've really got to get in shape in the next month though!

That sounds like fun! Although I've lived on the coast my whole life, I've never surfed. I only really picked up body boarding a couple summers ago. The waves out here aren't that big, though, unless we have a storm out there somewhere, then you see more surfers out.
