Desolation Wilderness: fairly desolate, very wild.

So, last weekend Abhi, a couple of friends, the dogs, and I went on a three-day backpacking trip in Desolation Wilderness, which is southwest of Lake Tahoe.

I'm not really into hiking, but this really looks amazing ^^

(Slightly off topic, but I keep forgetting to ask you - did you get my email? Just to make sure it didn't get lost in a spam folder *gg*)

I did get it, and am currently working on it! Sorry, I should have replied to it awhile ago, just to let you know that I got it. I'll, erm, try to get you something by the end of the week? If you're on chat, hit me up (jaclyntrades on gchat/aim/msn) and we can discuss, if you'd like.

I didn't mean to rush you, I'm only slightly paranoid every time I send an email to someone, so no worries.
Just wanted to know if that thing ever reached you ^^

Yeah, it's one of the big bonuses of being back in CA - although DC wasn't actually that bad (about 2 hours and change to Shenandoah National Park). But I guess that's pretty rare for major cities on the Eastern seaboard?

(Thanks!)

Wow, I think I'm tired just reading about it all! And what beautiful pictures! I gotta be honest, though...being a Florida girl, there's always a part of me that feels like the mountains are actually in the way of the scenery, lol. But, my quirks aside, glad you had a good time, it really sounds like it was wonderful.

'll admit, it was pretty tiring - but that's sorta what makes it fun.

Being a California girl, I can't imagine being in flat 'ol Florida - especially when a hurricane rolls around! I'd be like, "...but where are the hills for me to run to?" :)

Wow, that's BEAUTIFUL! I would love to do something like this again! The last time I went hiking, I was in Jr. High. XD You know, back when it was still Jr. High? :p

BEAUTIFUL pics! It must have been stunning to see in person.

You should go! Tahoe's a bit far from where you are, but there's tons of hiking options in SoCal - especially now that we're moving into the fall & cooler weather. Backpacking is a bit more involved, what with the gear & planning and backpacks, but day-hikes are totally doable if you just get the urge to go out and see some nature.
