Why would he be Captain Hand? He could have been called anything, kinda figure his was not a defining part of his physical description before it was cut off, kinda like being called "Captain Two Arms Two Legs One Eye Black Hair Ten Fingers Two Ears Two Hands"

Personally I reckon he was a Fred. Kinda anonymous, he was probably pleased when someone chopped his hand off gave him a good defining feature to set him apart from the other pirates!
