Sorry for being away from here for so long, but it all got a bit hard to put into words... Sadly my adopted Mum lost her battle with cancer on September 21st, after it got the better of too many systems and she got too weak to fight any more. However she was able to enjoy much of her final months regardless of chemo, radiation and the shear ( Read more... )

Thanks and yes she was remarkably strong, especially in the strong willed dept. For a quiet woman she got things her own way almost all the time!

MrO and I are both pretty excited I must say, but keeping it simple and sensible after all this time together... ;)

My condolences, but also congratulations!

It's definately been too long since we've caught up with you guys, will definately have to rectify that at some point.

Thanks LL! :) As for the catching up thing, we certainly do have to or you won't recognize the Ookling for a start. Sorry to have to break it to you, but he's now taller than you and nearly taller than me too...

... Um Kit's recovering from swine flu! Today he's (mostly) okay, but yesterday he was so upset, and cried all day ... his temperature was normal (after a bad few days), and he suddenly became aware that he felt awful. I had holiday booked for this week - and illness wasn't what I wanted to be doing! We're out of quarentine now - a Tesco shop was never more eagerly visited!

Oh - and dad had his foot amputated .... "tough" might be a good description! I like to feel that the year can only get better, as the only way is up!

Oh Jane, sounds like you need a break too - sadly not convinced that MrO or Ste'll agree to letting us go off for a weekend of pampering while they're left with the boys... Nice dream though! :)

Yes, he's finally going to become honest - maybe in light of the fact that we're about to have a teenage Ookling!
