MrO drove off with my car key in his pocket this morning, his mobile phone dead and no other way of reaching him... Oh the joys of getting our son to school sans car when we'd not been expecting it! I managed to walk him part way before wanting to collapse in screaming pain, at which point I told him to run on to school and let me get back home

Get a key without the remote - and give that one to MrO. You keep the other one tethered to your person.

Or I could just keep MrO tethered to me and then I could always get my hands on the key when I wanted it! ;)

What a shame you haven't got something to zap him with when he does this...

Think the money would be well spent on a second key! Tell MrO he's a plonker :-)
