I think they're playing it safe mostly. You have a really good point, but what with the Janto we have already and the whole Homo-Harkness situation, it could almost be miscontrued as a program that's solely just trying to push the gay agenda. I might be gay, but I for one don't want that. I want everyone to be able to enjoy it, and I don't want it to known as 'that programme where everyones gey and they all just kiss all the time' which incidentally is what a friend of mine calls it (lovingly, mind).

I know what you mean. A lot of people are really clueless about it - they thought the Janto kiss was the Torchwood producers not being bothered to portay CPR properly *re*.

I don't want it to become "that gay show", but I still would've liked it to be Ianto! :)

As much as i love the manlove, i really hope homosexuality doesn't become the focus of the show. my man gets very uncomfortable when we see men getting it on together on telly. oh well, i'd rather watch it on my own anyway.

but the show may lose some credibility if critics think RTD is just trying to do another QAF in sci-fi.

I have only two problems with this episode.

1. The reunion kiss was nowhere near long enough.
2. How dare the Doctor steal Jack away from Ianto?

Then again:

Ianto shot Owen. YES! Even better that thumping him one.

My hope is that once the Doctor and Jack have their little thing, Jack will get it all out of his system and dedicate himself to Ianto properly.
